What to Expect
📚 Spicy Books
We're diving into romance that brings the heat—from contemporary rom-coms to paranormal passion, historical slow burns to sci-fi sizzle. Every book features authors from marginalised communities: BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, and indie voices who are crafting the love stories we've been craving.
🍹 Spicy Cocktails
Each event features signature cokctails inspired by the month's book. Jalapeño-infused for enemies-to-lovers? Blood orange for vampire romance? We're pairing your reading with flavors that match the mood.
(Non-alcoholic options always available!)
💬 Spicy Conversations
No stuffy book reports here. We're talking tropes, debating spice levels, sharing our favorite scenes (yes, those scenes), and building genuine connections over shared obsessions. Whether you're team fake dating or team forced proximity, you'll find your people.

From themed cocktail menus to author Q&As (when we can snag them), surprise swag, and monthly book giveaways—every Spicy x Spicy night is designed to be an experience you'll actually remember (and want to post about).
Two Ways to Join the Party
Join from anywhere, cocktail in hand. We discuss one romance novel per month in intimate Zoom gatherings capped. Join us for 90 minutes of literary joy and we send you cocktail recipes beforehand.
In-Person Celebrations (Quarterly)
Four times a year, we gather IRL at beautiful London venues for our special in-person events. 40-60 book lovers, crafted cocktails, and the kind of conversations you'll still be thinking about weeks later.

Why Margins X does it different
At Margins X, we believe the best stories often come from the margins. That's why we exclusively feature authors from marginalised communities; the writers who have had to fight for their place in publishing, who bring perspectives that have been overlooked, who are creating the representation readers are hungry for.
We're not just reading diverse books. We're building a diverse community.
Whether you're a romance veteran with a 500-book TBR or someone who just discovered spicy books exist (welcome!), Spicy x Spicy is your space.
