Join us every month for intimate virtual discussions.

How it works

Reserve your spot for the next event. We cap attendance to keep discussions intimate and ensure everyone can participate.
🍹 Receive Your Cocktail Recipes
A week before the event, we'll email you a gorgeous PDF with themed cocktail recipes (and mocktails!). Each drink is inspired by the book we're reading. Make them ahead or during—your choice.
💬 Join the Zoom
We send the Zoom link 24 hours before. Events start at 7:00 PM GMT on Thursday evenings and run for 75-90 minutes. We open the room 10 minutes early for anyone who wants to arrive early and chat as well as often keep it open after for lingerers.

FAQs
Do I need to have read the book?
Yes! These are discussions, not summaries. We dive deep into spoilers, character arcs, and plot twists. That said, if you DNF'd (did not finish) the book, you're still welcome—we've all been there.
Where can I buy the books?
We recommend supporting independent bookshops when possible. We also share links to Bookshop.org (which supports indies) and other retailers in our event announcements.
Do I have to make the cocktails?
Absolutely not. Bring whatever you want—wine, tea, water, La Croix. The cocktails are just a fun extra.
Do I have to turn my camera on?
We encourage it (it makes conversations more engaging!), but it's not required. You can join audio-only or keep your camera off. We just ask that you participate in chat or verbally so you're part of the conversation.
What if I can't make it live?
Unfortunately, we don't record or offer replays (to protect everyone's privacy and keep discussions spontaneous). But there's always next month!
Who can join?
Anyone 18+ who loves romance novels! Virtual events are open to anyone anywhere.
How do you choose which books to read?
We curate a reading list that centers marginalised voices: BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, working-class, and immigrant authors. We prioritize #OwnVoices stories and aim for genre diversity (contemporary, historical, paranormal, fantasy romance, etc.).
What does 'marginalised authors' mean?
We use this term to describe authors from communities that have been historically underrepresented in publishing: people of color, LGBTQ+, disabled people, working-class authors, and immigrants. We believe these voices deserve celebration and amplification.
I'm new to romance novels—is this for me?
Yes! We welcome romance newcomers and longtime fans alike. Our discussions are accessible and judgment-free. If you're curious about the genre, this is a great place to start.
I don't drink alcohol. Can I still participate?
Absolutely! We always include mocktail recipes, and you're welcome to bring any beverage you prefer. The 'spicy drinks' are just a fun theme—the books are what matter.
